20 Quick Math Short Cut Tricks

These are as follows:

1.      Prime no = Divisible by 1 and own-self only = 2,5,7,11,17,19
2.      Any number divisible by 2 = Last digit should be 0,2,4,6,8
3.      Any number divisible by 3 = Sum of all digits should be divisible by 3.
For example:
a) Check 27 = 2+7=9, 9/3=3 means 27 is divisible by 3.
b) Check 29=2+9=11, 11/3 not divisible. It concludes that 29 are not divisible 3.
4.      Any number divisible by 4= last two digits should be divisible by 4or last digits must be 00.
5.       Any number divisible by 5= last digits must be 0 or 5.
6.       Any number divisible by 6= the number must be divisible by both 2,3 (see rules no. 7 & 8).
7.      Any number divisible by 8= last three digits should be divisible by 8.
8.       Any number divisible by 9= Sum of all digits should be divisible by 9.
For example
a) Check 27 = 2+7=9, 9/9=1 means 27 is divisible by 9.
b) Check 29=2+9=11, 11/9 not divisible. It concludes that 29 are not divisible 9.
9.      Any number divisible by 10= last digit must be zero.
10.   For a complete square last digits must be 0,1,4,5,6,9.
11.   For a complete cube last digits may be any of number 0-9.
12.   Sum of 1-100 numbers = [n (n+1)]/2
For example
Q. Find the sum of 1-100 no’s sum=[100(100+1)]/2= 5050
13.  Sum of 1-100 Odd numbers = [(last digit+1)/2]2
14.  Sum of 1-100 Even numbers = [last digit/2]2
15.  Last digits of 408x512x1002x1777 can be calculated by multiplying last digits of this number which is 8x2x2x7=224 now it says last digits is 4.
16.  Natural no’s = 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
17.  Complete no’s/Whole no’s = 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
18.  Rational no = p/q where q should not be equal to zero.
19.  Irrational no = √p
