This Descriptive Exam Pattern is discussed as follows:
1.      PRECIS WRITING:

It is one of the important and scoring sections of descriptive exams. This section is used to know the understanding level of an aspirant. Following points need to be used for writing a précis.
1.      Prepare a rough draft for writing a Precis idea.
2.      It should be not more than 1/3 of the original passage.
3.      It should cover the entire topic.

4.      Change Complex words into simple words.
5.      Write legibly in descriptive exam.

2.      ESSAY WRITING:

It is also one of most important sections of descriptive exams. This section is used to verify the writing skills or word power and sentence construction of an aspirant. Following points need to be used for writing an Essay.
1.      Prepare a rough draft for writing Essay Keywords, Facts and Figures & chronological order of any factual incident.
2.      Use your General Awareness to describe the topic with latest example.
3.      Essay should be not more than 250-300 words.
4.      It should summarize the entire topic.
NO SINGLE LINE SHOULD BE IRRELEVANT TO TOPIC.
5.      Don’t use complex words. Just simple words and English word construction.
6.      Write legibly in descriptive exam.

3.      LETTER WRITING:
It is also one of most important sections of descriptive exams. This section is used to check presentation skills of an aspirant.
Two types of Letter are used for explaining any issue/topic i.e. Formal Letter & Informal Letter.
Note: Use LEFT side pattern to write any Formal or Informal Letter.

Following points need to be used for writing Formal Letter.
1.      Write Sender’s address on the left side of the corner.
2.      Write Receiver’s address just below the Sender’s address.
3.      DO NOT USE ‘TO’ before Receiver’s address.
4.      Write Subject and underline the complete sentence.
5.      Write Salutation i.e. Dear Sir, Dear Madam etc.
6.      Use at least 2-3 paragraphs to explain the topic. First paragraph is introductory paragraph. Second is problem description and third contain the request regarding topic/issue.
7.      It should be not more than 100-150 words.
8.      It should summarize the entire topic.

10.  Write legibly in descriptive exam.

a.       Formal Letters to Banking Sectors
Write a letter to Bank/Branch Manager to
i)        Branch manager to add your daughter's name as a second nominee for your savings account.
ii)      Telling him that you have lost your receipt of term deposits which was going to mature in next week asking him what steps are needed to be taken to resolve the issue.
iii)    Write a letter to a client of your bank who had taken a car loan from you 2 years ago to buy the car but has sold it now without paying the loan.
iv)    Mr. X had applied for loan of Rs. 26 lacs but he is eligible only for Rs. 22 lakhs. Write a letter as a Bank Manager telling him about the refusal of his loan.
b.      Formal Letters to Newspaper Editor
Write a letter to the newspaper editor to
i)        For disturbance of pigeon caused to society.
ii)      About unregulated load shading in your area.
c.       Informal Letters to you friend
Write a letter to your friend
i)        To share his experience of selection in SBI Probationary Officer Exam.
ii)      Explaining him what is your retirement plan.

4. PARAGRAPH WRITING:
It is also one of most important sections of descriptive exams. Following points need to be used for writing a paragraph.
(i)                 Prepare a rough draft for writing
(ii)               Paragraph should be not more than 150-250 words.
(iii)             It should summarize the entire topic.
